Happiness equals success

I have been really down on my job lately, and then I was driving home last night listening to NPR. There was a report about all the people who were recently laid off and all of the thousands of people who are still unemployed and cannot find a new job.

I am a little whiner. Yup, this is truly the problem. Yeah, some days my job sucks big time, BUT, here is the kicker, I HAVE A JOB. I need to remember to be thankful for even having this position. Other people would kill for it.

Then last night I was reading my new issue of Self magazine that was delivered yesterday.

Happiness = success at work, not the other way around. Good words people, remember those.

They also said to turn things around on you job description. Instead of saying that I process mortgages I am going to tell people, and know in my heart, that I help people get into their dream homes.

The article also said to break down your duties into bearable bites. This I definitely need to do. My calendar is so full of people moving into their dream homes or making their home payments more affordable (refinance) that I want to cry every time I look at it. From now on I am looking at one day at a time.

Happiness equals success. I am changing my tune.

  1. Those are great words to remember! I find myself complaining about my job sometimes too and then I remember all the people I know (and don't know) that don't have jobs and would love to have the one I have. We are very blessed.

  2. Sometimes the biggest change God wants to make in our lives is not our circumstances, but our attitudes towards them! How slow I am to learn that at times!

I praise God that you are going through that transformation!

  5. Hi Missie...I originally found your prayer request in my community. Just stopping by to see how you're doing. I used to be a mortgage processor and I know how demanding that job can be. ;) I hope and pray you have a great week! Blessings!
